Starlight

A Poem

I live to get lost in the sheer wonder of it all.

Stare at the stars, eyes wide, heart full.

Chest aches as it tries to breathe it in, the life,

the magnitude, crushing me with sweet intervals;

Waves, joy consuming insignificance;

We have everything, know nothing but a fraction of the splendour that was hung just for us

As if my heart could surrender to anything less than the glorious crescendo, cosmic symphony,

a dance hardly glimpsed, a song we hear in whispered breaths,

not unlike my own

in this very moment where love and imagination collide,

bursting into flames of colour and emotion, depths inside that call out inky blues and candle light

moments of revelation,

more than this,

fascination,

born for this very moment by moment

I hear the cello singing with the wind,

my lifesong, my lovesong, my heartbeat,

I'm His.

Nothing else matters, sweet sweet love. Love.

LOVE. Hearts entwine, I am His.

He is Mine.

Destiny not to be fought for but sung out, the notes being written

by two hands, one heart.

Alive, living, breathing, feeling. thinking, seeing

all there is to see,

being all there is to be,

Loved. Beloved,

For the hand that holds me, holds the very stars my eyes burn so bright for.

For all the galaxies in their finery cannot compare to the riches inside me,

the one whose gaze has found me.

Rare beauty exposed, imperfection,

In Perfection He sees

Me. ME

Him in Me.

My Hope, His Glory.
