My Star light, you were born with might; defeating death at birth, you are an angel born on earth. Fighting for life as a newborn; you fought for life and would not be torn. My child is guided by angels above; she is a pure child, born in love.
Though the beginning was a rough road; the weight may be a heavey load, the strength within is your light which gloriously shows. Calm, until your fire is fed; as your mother, I only pray for a good path on which you should be led.
My little Star light, from a twinkle to a guide in the night; her thirst for justice is why she fights. To know that which she lost; no matter the cost. My child whom is so bright; burn steady into the night. This blessing I give to you; show your light of Love in all you do, and blessings will return too.
My Star light; wherever you may be tonight, know you are loved and I hope all your dreams are achieved and you soar higher than a dove. No matter if you are wrong or right; you will continue to be your Mother's light.

Reaching Out
I promise her. I'd do anything for her. She's my mom. Even as Lanie and Deanna are flying home, Mom is scrappy fighting dying. She lays too still in that too-big bed with all the toasty white hospital blankets, in the south tower, at the broad end of a long slow-turning corner that delivers me again to her private room with the view she can't see through, with the beeping that tells us nothing new, and all these ice chips she can't swallow, and a flood of well-intentioned nurses who cannot do a damned thing all the same.
