Stage Fright

Title Says It All

Heavy breathing---

Gasp.

The wide-eyed boy

slowly walked towards the girl

with curly brown hair

tied with a pink satin ribbon.

His small body froze as he looked

at her glassy green eyes.

“H-hello, I-I...I…”

Stroking a smile she replied,

“Yes, what is it?”

“Uh...m-my…”

“Uh-huh?”

She gestured him to keep going.

“Um...uh…m-my...name...”

His eyes geared

at the shining yellow spotlight

shining above him.

Yet thousands of onlookers waited

for his response.

The man with the clipboard

cupped his hands together

and whispered from backstage,

“My name is Romeo Montague.”
