Spice

When you need a friend

What is life if there is no spice?

One might dispose of it in a trice.

Life without laughter and life without joy

Is no life at all so it’s Spice we deploy.

Spice is flavour in the meal we prepared.

Spice is that crazy idea that we dared.

Spice is that joke with laughter and song.

Spice is that challenge that spurs us along.

Spice is that friend that lightens up your day.

Spice is the phone call from far, far away.

Spice is the memory that brings out the giggle.

Spice is the music, and best of all the fiddle.

But now I am lonely and I need a funny face.

I want a companion to fill the empty space.

What is around that could possibly suffice?

I found a patchy canine and I think I’ll call her Spice.

Spice has been with me thirteen years by now.

She’s made me laugh and made me care. She’s been a little WOW!

I love her. She loves me. We’re both tuned in on that.

When tiny Spice is on my trail I wear my Happy Hat!
