Special Education: Unconditional Love

I love myself

for all the things I

didn’t do

didn’t complete

didn’t excel in

didn’t win

didn’t fulfill...

I love those parts of me because

it’s okay to not to be good at some things

it’s okay to “fail”

it’s okay to not have it together

it’s okay to rest

it’s okay to take it easy

it’s okay to give up

it’s okay to quit

it’s okay to do it later

it’s okay to have help

it’s okay to not know how to do it all

it’s okay to take my time

it’s okay to go slow

it’s okay to say no

it’s okay to drop the ball

cuz a balloon is more fun to play with anyway

so I can float away to a happier place

where it’s okay to make mistakes

and love myself simply because I exist
