Sparrow Heart

Bird Boxes

I'm sitting in the garden

Watching the birds

For anyone who knows me,

This is a pretty normal thing for me to do.

On the wall are 4 bird boxes

I built them years ago

They have sat empty for a long time

Every spring I would sit and watch these empty boxes

Now I sit on the grass

watch as the sparrows fly back and forth

bringing food to the little baby birds

they sit safely on the side of my house.

I can hear them making noises

Common underrated sparrows

I think a part of me wishes I was a sparrow.

Which is a funny thing to admitFor me

Spring is the best time of year

From the dead of winters pause

Life in Bloom

As I sit in the garden with my sparrow heart.
