"Space Angels"

They're called our little space angels.

They're called our little space angels

Astronauts who never made it back

It seems that most of the tragedies

Were from mechanical slack

The O-Rings on the Challenger

To the flight of Apollo 13

From the fire of Apolo 1

And under Columbia's left wing

They were on a trip back to Earth

But instead they were routed up to Heaven

They were true astronaut heros

On Columbia STS-107

With a small couple problems

Everything looked fine; NASA ensured

For that special mission that had

Projects from all over the world

That piece of foam damaged the wing

The flight was doomed from the start

To everyone the risks didnt matter

Cause space travel was in their heart

Feeling the zero gravity

Floating between Earth and the stars

I wonder if one of them hoped

They'd be the first person on Mars?

I've heard many people say

That exploration will continue in space

And that these kinds of tragedies

Are something we'll just have to face
