may you linger in the depths
drowned and bound eternal
harnessed to the craters ledge
in the ocean floors inferno
be that what you are, but be you there
beleaguered is the mind whose thoughts you share
corrupt another soul I shriek in spite
and instead of an eagle I send a shrike
to pick clean it’s being of blatancy
though I fear it is in futility
to suppress your lightless virility
beneath the waves of my subconscious
the shade of my soul resides
plagued by reminders in my conscience
and the shadow that stalks my strides
it is not some other me or doppelganger
it is only the primordial chaos
inborn fury at the absurdity of existence
unconsciously betrays us
it exists in the pain
of the dull and mundane
that maddening malady
of pointless disdain
Sisyphus happy is a tantalizing idea
finding fulfillment in the futile
but instead I see him sulking over a desk from Ikea
opting instead for denial
with words I design a path for my boulder
in art and love I found
that the meaning of my life rests upon my shoulders
and the chaos must be bound
fury without reason
angst of the ages
humanities insecurities
stain history’s countless pages
our origin or lack of one forever haunts my soul
a shade that I bury and yet it takes its toll
chaos is its name and never will it die
on I toil in its shade on a scheme to finally fly
About the Creator
Eduardo Victor Garcia
Growing up in El Sereno, and moving all over L.A. County cultivated a unique perspective, with which I hope to open the eyes of society to our ignored ailments and abilities.
