When the darkness creeps in slowly and lights begin to dim,
Do not be afraid of the feelings flooding in
Emotion is at the centre of all we are and do
Don’t be afraid to ask for help, you must let someone through
People can't quite understand the pain you feel inside
When a half made smile makes it easier to hide
The demons and the monsters that only you can tame
Don’t seem real to those that have never felt the same
Find a friend a sole a mate that can be there through the pain
Somebody to talk to to cry to hold and never feel ashamed
The day will come when you find a place where the monsters go away
But until it does don’t ever let those demons pave the way
The times that you feel so alone even in a crowded room
When everything is caving in and the dark clouds start to loom
Find one thing that makes you smile to push away the fears
A love a child a story told to move away the tears
You are strong and kind and wounderful more than you could ever dream
Remember you are amazing and that you’re a star that needs to gleem
Know your worth and all you are, a diamond in the rough
You will come through this darkened haze all you need to do is trust

How the Harvest Mouse Came to Suisun Bay
A long, long time ago there was a family of harvest mice. Mice are common, but these were unique – born to those who had lived in the salty, marshy bay for many generations, these mice ate and drank from the sea as well as the land and rivers. For generations, there were only the southern families, scattered along the marshes of Corte Madera and in the San Francisco Bay (U.S. Fish & Wildlife, 2013). One family, however, would undergo strife and conflict before reaching a whole new world. What became of them after is another tale entirely – but this is how their story begins.
