Soliloquy from a Broken Heart

I can’t believe that we thought just the sex would be enough to keep us in love.

Remember when you promised we’d always be together?

Because I remember when I thought you meant it.

I can’t believe that we thought just the sex would be enough to keep us

in love.

I’m so tired of everything about us,

and about how we thought we were in love,

and how we think forcing it can make us be in love –

I’m so tired of it.

Isn’t it time we both stopped pretending we make each other happy?

We let each other down.

We will always let each other down.

We’re not enough for either of us to be satisfied.

The saddest part is that somewhere deep inside me,

I still have hope that you’ll fall in love.

How pathetic.

It would have been better if we never met.
