On an everyday basis
We pass many faces
Of those we love
And those we hate
And it's always choices by fate
We walk with fear
Or with confidence
By those we hold dear
Or those we ignorant of
We walk with a thought
Of what others think
An everyday battle is fought
Of what's inside our heads
Yes
We are oppressed
We all are
And it makes us stressed
On how were dressed
And how's our hair
It just isn't fair
We walk a thin line
Of something so fine
That if we aren't careful
That line will break
Because of a little mistake
A mistake we make
That causes us to be judged
Society
A cruel place
Where one cannot be one’s self
Instead
We place ourselves on a shelf
And ignore what's in our head
That is what we must do
For if we don't
Others place an opinion
Even if there are a few
Who accept others
No one is free
No one is free to express
Or to live
No one is free to dress
As they please
Because someone will find the ease
To break your stride
So they might not have to give

I enjoy reading and writing poetry. If I'm not lounging on my bed, you can find me starry-eyed at the farm.
