So Long

So long I have been floating in this ocean,

Dark and deep,

Yet so peaceful.

This love has been the sunset,

Always beautiful

Always fading into the dark.

Pulling me along with it.

You don’t know how

slow

the sun

really goes down.

You are the sun that I wait for through the night.

Then, came daylight savings time.

And the sun found a new star.

So long I waited for the sun to rise.

And it never showed.

So long I have waited.

I am done.

I will remember the sun.

No longer will I search for it.

No longer will I float in this deep, dark ocean.

Now I have reached land.

I will learn to walk in the dark.

So long I waited.

So long, I am done.

So long.
