Snowtime

For you to feel as you feel right

The snow paints a Monet painting,

Makes everything as beautiful as the last leaf falling,

As cold as a frozen pond in winter,

As quiet as a mouse with cheese.

As white as a unicorn purring

Falling like parachutes,

As fun as toys never to be put down

As dangerous as a bull at red.

As soft as the wool, the sheep’s wool

Warming up your body,

So white it makes milk look dirty

A touch like no other.

I wish I was out there in the snow

Playing with my friends,

My teacher being cross and tall,

Will i ever see the snow?

The houses are the beauty,

With white all over,

As I look out of the window

I feel like a prisoner.

The speakers ring out, high and clear,

I pack my things going out,

But no, too much snow,

Will I ever go out?

Children play out in the snow,

I am at last one of them.

The gentle snow touches my face,

I know it’s Christmas time.

But then a blow begins,

The snow falls hard,

Hail stones begin to fall like rain

And no more snow allowed.
