Skies

Sometimes the skies are deceiving.

Blue and white clouds

dance in the sky

like children on a rainy day.

The ideas of happiness

seem so clear to those below.

Invisible stars fluttering in between

smiling planets.

Tears don’t exist here

unless they are of joy

and peace.

Sadness isn’t real

and neither is anger

and with what you are feeling

it is full of lies.

Put on a smile and look up at the sky.

The skies fade to a dark gray

and the stars begin to die.

The distant sounds of happiness

fade into blackness and silence.

The smiles fade and the darkness

begins to settle in.

What a wonderful world.
