Sinking

A Poem

I try to stay afloat

Yet I just sink

I sink deeper

Into the abyss

The cold dark space

Filled with emptiness

No relief in sight

I try and I try

And I remain sinking

Finally hope arrives

I fell myself floating

I will make it

Rising slowly

But I'm rising

I see the light

But then

I sink

Why must I sink

Have I been so evil

My fate has been sealed

Before I ever lived

I must sink

Into the darkness

I must fade away

And sink

But I won't accept

This thing called fate

I will see the light

I refuse to fall

I will rise one day

But until then

I must sink
