Sin of this World

I have masqueraded these sentiments for long enough,

letting a facade escape the eyes of judgement,

today marks the day that I've become a diamond in the rough,

livid with my generation and annoyed at the world's corruption.

Everyday, there is always someone going through a struggle,

fighting for their life to live or going through dramatic stumbles,

nothing makes me more weak than seeing a life crumble,

people fight everyday in Iraq; biting the bullet and tumbles.

People show little love to the hungry and our Armed forces,

letting earth become victim to bloody wars and death,

letting a racial civil war deface Martin Luther King's importance,

what has the world come to? Why does it have to be a game of chess?

In other countries, many people have to fight for their own survival,

fighting off the Hutu Militia during present day and Rwandan genocide,

slaughtering innocent civilians with Machetes for their own revival,

think of the children, think of the bloodshed and you'll thank God you're alive.

People have been consumed by negative influence,

letting Media and sin destroy a positive outcome,

I know life is a constant battle of love and bullets,

but why give in to the Devil and hurt the ones that love you most?
