Silver Lining

In Light and in Darkness...

When I was crumbling, when I was about to fall

You came and steered me with your grace

You overpowered darkness, you are my sunlight

And now, all I can see is your face

When all of my dreams failed, and my fingers turned blue

You held my hand and gave me a taste of life

I realized I am strong, but only on the surface, not all through

But, fortunately for me, you untangled my inner strife

And then, out of nowhere, the verses started rhyming

And just when I thought I would sink

You came and became my silver lining

Don’t leave me alone, with all my demons within

You didn’t let my emptiness devour me

Now break the shackles and set me free

You are my bearing

You instill into me, a zest to survive

When I walk towards you, right through the valley of death

I don’t know why, but I tend to feel alive

When all the lights fade out

And indomitable silence begins to scream and shout

I feel the raindrops falling on me

After a prolonged drought

It was here that I saw the stars shining

And just when I thought I would sink

You came and became my silver lining

You’ve driven me out of the ruins

From the chambers where love was annihilated

And where happiness was destroyed

Where lives were stranded between vast voids

Right at the stroke of dusk

You came and became my guiding light

I closed my eyes and counted up till three

And you dismantled the walls that were confining me

The easiest part was falling for you

The toughest part is being away

I have told you everything

But I still have countless words to say

I’m chocking on unspoken words

There are beginning to descend

But you are my silver lining

My best friend

When you are there with me

Melodies get unchained and the stars start shining

Because you happen to be with me in health and in sickness

My best friend, my silver lining
