Silent Screams

Poem of Despair

The darkness is surrounding me so that I can't breathe

wrapping its cold sharp fingers completely around me

I'm in so much pain all I can do is silently scream

on the outside I'm all good, happy is how I seem

my fear cradles me in its thick stoney embrace

the light is leaving me all that's left is a trace

standing high upon this shambled eternal cliff

here dark meets light, many cries come from this rift

I'm confused, hurt not knowing where to turn

my soul so hot, in minutes it will start to burn

I must leave this place and not turn back

but the way has pieces missing from its track

I'm screaming for help and only a few can hear

"pull me from this place" my eyes full in tears.
