"It's often difficult for those who are lucky enough to have never experienced what true depression is to imagine a life of complete hopelessness, emptiness and fear." -Susan Polls Schutz

the Night–

he is a mysterious fellow.

he seduces your soul with his beauty.

his essence strips you of your senses.

his tranquility embraces your anxious heart.

Night is he who sways you madly.

it’s undeniable.

defiant he is. crazed is what you are.

a hunger that needs satisfied is what you beg for.

an unreal serenity is what you dream of.

Night is he who inspires your delusions.

imprisoned by Light ‘til time releases him

it’s infinite, his presence– but his hours are counted.

you bid him farewell when morning dawns

he awaits for you, your weariness grows as each hand stroke shifts.

you linger for his arrival, and he too anticipates;

alluring, he is; sincerely charming

leaving you silenced beyond belief.

it surely is he; he is like no other.

he is the Night.
