Silence Is Your Home

To the man learning to open up and communicate and the woman standing by his side.

Silence seems to be your home

My voice makes you irritated

I talk soft and unsure

Looking for your guidance

Mostly I look for your presences

But

Silence seems to be your home

Your home

Boarded up windows

Nails on the hinges

Dark curtains hang drooping as you sit inside

Your home

Silence.

You sit and tinker

With your memories

Problems

What ifs and dreams

You make them all and the reproduce and grow into adults who should be leaving the nest

But your home is closed off.

There's no leaving

A small hole that was made by your memories and problems and what ifs and mostly your dreams

They scratched at the drywall till there nails bled

Breathe in the insulation cough it out onto the floor,

bite through the 2 by 4s and hammer through the brick

They take their turns breathing in the fresh air and eyes burning from the sun light.

They seep through to find me waiting for them

As the hole grows, wider bigger more floods through

but your house may crumbled

Your home silence.

But they have found sound

You quickly board it up

Shut it out

As I wave good bye on the other side

I will meet you again

Problems

Memories

What ifs and dreams

Until your nail beds regrow, your lungs clear and you find a soft spot I will be here keeping the clouds away from the sun and the air clean

Silence is your home

No buildings stand forever

So I will build a home, one for us to both stay.

And wait
