You like what you see, but do you even know what you’re seeing?

Those who came before you can be so misleading

Initially you can’t think for yourself so you emulate your predecessors

They think they’re helping you, when really they’re the cognitive suppressors.

Molding you into what they think is right for society

As you welcome their biases…thinkin' to yourself... there’s no way they’d ever lie to me

So you assume that your opinion will be no different than the person beside of me.

Brainwashed now, because the mere thought of any alteration to what you’ve been taught gives you anxiety

Looking at other people crazy like they need to check their sobriety.

The sober truth is, this is your DUI checkpoint

You point out the speck in your brother’s eye but don’t check for the plank in your own

Now that’s biblical, hope that wasn’t too subliminal…

By the way, why is Jesus most used as the medicinal residual?

Off topic, forgive my plight, back to the topic of sight.

You portray to be at the pinnacle, when deep inside you’re really miserable..

You feel nun livin biblical so you flip the scripture to the physical

posting pictures making your whole body visible

collecting all these likes like some God-ordained miracle

sad part is, only now do you feel that your life is somewhat livable

….ahhhhh….the power of the digital

I mean as long as there’s a filter and hashtag, I guess..ANYthing is permissible

When you see what you’re looking at, what’s the lens that you’re looking through?

The clouded, societal cataractic view?

Or the glasses the media has custom famed for you?

It’s not a secret that this country is disconnected

We send millions to the Middle East but Flint Michigan gets neglected

Seems like sport to get minorities arrested

look at the disparity of white vs colored that prisons have collected

The food and water we consume, will soon leave us infected

but those who cause all this damage, walk away completely unaffected

Don’t get it twisted, Presidents are selected, not elected.

Look at the government and dissect it

The president is a puppet,

congress and the corporations are corrupted

money and power are the substances that they covet

The very reason why our country has been in a plummet

Looking at all these spectacles, through my spectacles, leaves me to speculate…

Were we born this way or did we learn to hate?
