It’s funny how we tell ourselves we can’t.

What’s stopping us besides ourselves?

It’s funny how we tell ourselves we aren’t.

We aren’t smart enough

We aren’t pretty enough

We aren’t good enough

Why do we tell ourselves such things?

It’s funny how I never took a chance

Was I afraid of missing my mark

I guess I don’t like taking shots in the dark.

Would it really have changed anything?

I mean honestly I don’t see how it could be

I don’t claim to be good at this game

I don’t have good aim, and I’d rather avoid the shame

Why can’t things just stay the same
