Shhhhh Little Baby

A Poem

Shhhhhh little baby, don't make a peep,

Shhhhhh little darling, your father is still asleep,

As we tip toe down the hallway,

trying not to make a noise,

My foot went from underneath me as I tripped on one of your toys,

Shhhhhhh little baby, don't cry, don't cry, I beg,

Shhhhhhh little baby, come here and let mum kiss better your leg,

Shhhhhhh little baby, calm down and let's make you some food,

oh no little baby, he's awake and in a really, really bad mood,

come here little baby, quick let's find a hiding spot,

As he comes out swearing and cursing, thanks a f-cking lot,

"I've worked hard all night to provide for you and this is what I get,

come here, you useless b-tch I'll give you something you wont forget!!"

Shhhhhhh little baby, lay quiet for me while I face what I'm about to get,

Shhhhhhh little baby, don't cry, my love, he will soon be full of remorse and regret,

Shhhhh little baby, I promise, I promise you that one day, one day, my dear,

Our lives will be so very different my love when we live without this fear.
