She-Wolf

Dead of Night

Perched on a rock as still as a statue

Waiting for the moon to shine

Her pack behind her

Waiting, watching like a crowd of children

Waiting for an ice cream truck

The sunset is like a chest of gold

Slowly sinking into the earth

The moon as shiny as a nickle

Slowly rises from its bed

The she-wolf raises her head

The others obeying

Like a child should obey their mother

A shrilling howl like that of a canon

Bursts through the air

Thousands more echo it

Once all the howls die out

The crickets start to chirp

Like the beginning of a midnight song

Frogs croak, birds chirp their goodnights

Then all falls silent, like the whole world has vanished

A thunderous crackle fills the silent night

As if it were a second after the countdown

On New Year's Day

The she-wolf bows down her head

As a bunch of howls fill the air

They copy their leader and bow their heads too

The she-wolf swiftly leaped off the rock

And landed without the slightest thud

As fast as light

All the others gracefully joined her

She slowly walked back to her cave

The wolves behind her

Following her every move

All went silent,

Every animal asleep

About the Creator

blazina love

I always needed a space to share and write. I'm not very good at keeping journals and I feel as if I've lost touch with my creative side. Thank you for supporting me and reading my works. Art is complex. This is my art and I hope you enjoy.
