Shattered Sunshine

A Poem

The cement beneath me is hard and cold.

It brings me to reminisce of your heart.

The sobs bellowing from my center shake the earth to its core.

This can't be happening. I have been torn apart.

The bruises on my ego match the bruises on my arms.

You've beaten me in more ways than one.

I hate you. I hate me. I hate that I love you.

The stars are laughing at me, going dark. There's no sun.

I closed my eyes to the flags that everyone else seen so clearly.

There's no way I can face all this shame.

How can a person that I held onto so dearly,

Shatter my world like it was only a game?

Because that person was myself that answered by another name.
