Gathering of Broken Pieces

“The Flower Once Grew”

The numb once felt.

The broken were once whole.

The lost were once home.

The trapped were once free.

The cold-hearted once loved.

Love is not what left them in ruins.

The toxic thought that love is conditional and temporary,

fueled by broken relationships,

vacant “i love you’s”,

and empty promises,

has made them too afraid to love again.

“Warm Lover”

Her embrace is warm,

but so is the devil’s touch darling.

“Fire Away”

It’s contradicting.

Your words break me when you speak.

Every syllable like a bullet through my heart.

You know where it hurts most,

and than you say you love me.

Baby, you can’t put a bandaid on a bullet

wound and expect it to heal.

“The Shore”

“Come back, I need you.” said the shore,

as the waves drifted back into the ocean.

“Ink”

I cry rivers and oceans.

Every tear, attempting to wash away memories of you,

But every word you spoke,

every second spent with you,

and every night I layed next to you,

is tattooed in my brain.
