It comes in places unknown
It creeps up behind you
It comes without warning
But it is always there
Wherever there is light, it is there
You can find it following behind you or beside you
It is out in the bright sun
Or inside with lights on
It always follows you
When you are feeling all alone
That is when it creeps
It is always lurking in the corner
Waiting to be seen again
Your shadow then becomes your only friend
When you are sad and alone in your room
It is your shadow that keeps you company
It is your shadow that is very comforting
As it is always there, it is a part of who you are.
