Serenity in Music
This is one of the first poems I ever wrote.

The daunting feelings change the key of hope.
The sound, a path that flows like waterfalls.
My soul controls the notes that help me cope,
though sometimes I need music before I fall.
It’s safe to say that one day I will be,
safe from all distress that drowns out the sound.
To try and change affects not only me,
but also the music that keeps me bound.
Though bound because my safety is a need.
While fingers move around without a pause,
I play the notes ‘til they begin to bleed,
the sound that brings me relief in each clause.
I’m reaching ease way past infinity.
The music gives me great serenity.
