Self-Love (Lovin’ Myself)

Spoken Word

Lovin’ myself

I don’t do that a lot

I don’t think about myself

Fear corrupts my thoughts

Lovin’ myself

I don’t have the time

Always putting others before myself

Has been my crime

Lovin’ myself

Where do I begin?

Where does it say that it’s ok to take

When I always want to give?

Self love

Is a God sent

But God always talks about loving others...

So, why is self love so important?

Self love is important

We all need it so

Taking a moment just to breathe

Just to let go

Self love is important

Watch out for those who “got ‘cho back”

Cause the minute you burnout

They may not be there when you crack

I don’t know who needs to hear this

But

Lovin’ yourself

Should ALWAYS be enough

Change

Only if needed

Only, If it helps you to grow

Only if it’s not conceited

Lovin’ myself

Why should I try?

Why have I always set my feelings to the side?

Lovin’ myself

These words speak true

The only person who knows you

Is you

Self Love is

Taking yourself out on dates

At least you know, you’ll never be late

Self Love is

Allowing yourself to be human

Because we all make mistakes

I don’t know who needs to hear this

But it’s never to late

To be who you want to be

Someone to whom you can relate

I don’t know who needs to hear this

But age is only a number

Don’t let it tell you that

You aren’t getting any younger

Cause while the concept may be true

There’s still plenty left to do

Time is in your hands

And that’s part of Self Love too
