Seeds and Weeds

A Poem by Sixto Lopez

When I was a young boy I dreamt of touching fluffy clouds. Dancing in the busy streets. Standing out among the crowds. But, as fate would have it, life is full of many weeds. Except for some special moments I got to plant my seeds.

No I'm not that same young boy who thought he'd touch a fluffy cloud. And my body cracks and pops, sometimes very loud. I never danced among the streets. Never stood out in a crowd. But every morning I wake up feeling oh so proud.

Life has only taught me but one important thing. Nothing can prepare you for the joy that trees will bring. I never stretched the truth one bit. Life is full of many weeds. But I'm thankful everyday I got to plant my seeds.

But Before you sit in judgement. Please try to plant some seeds. They bring forth love and happiness. Because life is full of weeds.
