Second Place

Love right?

The truth I must say without the delay

My secret must share without spices

My actions have all been destined to happen

I stare at her from a distance not too far

How could someone just capture my heart?

I research about her and the truth revealed hurt

For she has given her heart to someone else, bad report

But there I stand, pushed to tell her how I feel

Turns out she feels the same way still

In a week's time, the kisses fly in through the window

And then, between two males, she stands in the middle

Saddened at what I see, I am just another second place

Who am I to her, her king or her knight?

Days, weeks, months, flew by

And the highest point was a kiss

Then with the moon up high

Rain came down as though it was terribly in pain

As this maiden of mine pushed and with her, I laid

Could the rain have seen it before it cried?

Strange as stars that night refused to shine

The most cherished gift lost

I alone lost as I wasn't the first

Things went from good to bizarre

And I became shook of who I was

Credibility wiped off, Psychic wiped on

Love, really?? Is it Love?

There is a thin line between love and infatuation

Best leave it for the elite to discover

As it is indeed a tricky situation

And so this knight disappears, looking for a land to be made king

And yet to every maiden's eyes he is nothing but a second thing

Perfect yet imperfect, nice yet unhooked

This knight hangs himself and becomes reborn

Let's tell a tale or two, from now till dawn.
