Seasons

A Poem for My Melancholy Heart

I wither in the cold, as the winter consumes every bit of land

I roll between feelings of sharp pain

and then numbness of nothing as if frostbite has taken hold

Images and pictures of lovelier seasons reflected

Somewhere farther away

Time spent seasons ago feel almost obsolete

Who is that person

Will I ever feel the way she did when blossoms bloomed

and sweet breezes tickled her face

Hollow and barren now, if that can be called a feeling at all

Trudging one treacherous step after another, mindless motions

Careless in a way

The awareness of seasons almost lost to me now

as I face what seems to be endless days of snow

falling, and surviving the cold
