Schizophrenia

Written From the Mind of a Schizophrenic

FADE IN:

Schizophrenia walks

It's like a screenplay

One with no EXIT Stage left or right

No synopsis to indulge the crowd

Just pure silence all around

INTERMISSION:

The time everyone gets up and takes a break

Sometimes the actors and actresses will too

Scooping up popcorn and tossing it at each other;

Laughing as they shuffle the mind like a pair of dice

Rolling down a poker table

Five minutes turn into ten which end up being days

And the screenplay stays in position for when

They all return.

They never do.

FADE OUT:

The main attraction; Beauty of schizophrenia walks in

Such a beautiful romance in candlelit aural

Such harmony from the static screen of a television set

One argument

One heartbreak

One tragedy

Nearly brings the show to a closing

AND SCENE:

Death.

The sad ending to a beautiful beginning

Such a shameful fault; nobody heard the violent screams

Or the cries of one's mind, as they spilled their lines

Their thoughts hold them a hostage inside

Until the heart stops beating and their blood runs dry

But the screenplay continues on; lead role opens again

But for who?
