Sanity

A Mono-Syllabic Essay

I hope that one day we will all be sane. That life will be calm, and the folks will rest. I want to see the light of day and not be blind to it by the work of the world. The smoke will die off and the city will not drown in the trust of rules. Life will be full of bliss, and not wealth. The crowd will not be sad, and the world will not be bad. The brawls will stop, and the mobs will hush. But, I know that the world will not sleep. That the earth will move each day, one turn at a time. The sky will not clear, the clouds will not part. The town will still roar, and the songs will not seize. The noise is pure, but loud. The streets buzz, and the nights are long. But, it is the light that keeps the world wary. Stars will be bright, and the ground will be wet, with rain from the day.

I will see things that are good in the world, and then I will be sane. I will laugh and smile and care. I will cry and love and hope. Life will be calm one day and the cries and roars will pause. I will see love in the eyes of the kids. They will learn to be brave and to trust in the ways of the world. The youth will live on and save the world that is not sane. They will make trees green and fresh. They will care for the earth and its jewels. Life is key, and life is love. One day, we will all be wise, and the world will change.
