Safe Harbor

Heal

Dropping all the fairytales

and all the dots that end sentences

Dropping the copycats

The pretention and pretending

My footsteps dance across an open, endless mind

my silences find sound

and my words flow in verses

I sing

Hey, over here

safe harbor

over here

world citizen

over here

home is over here

free of the punctuations

free of someone else’s dresses and sunken eyes

I see you through my open door

Without your punctuated skins

I see you

thinking you are barely standing

crooked bones

limp lost eyes

cracked lips

barely breathing

famished to the tip of your toes

wafting left then wafting right

so tenaciously hanging on a wish’s thread

just barely

Hey, I wave

Over here I grin

my smile wrapping 'round you softly

easing your barely there

steadying you're barely breathing

watering your parched heart

Take your time I say

safe harbor first

Fresh water is under the autumn tree

Drink

Slough off those crusts

Bathe your skin

and sip slowly while you listen to the whispering forever

Do take your time

Savor the water

Savor the shade of the autumn tree

You are safe now

Shed the cavalier whatevers

and those musty neverevers

those I cant’s

those imperative NO’s

Nothing is forbidden now

Let go and rest

cradled by the fresh autumn tree

listening to the whispering without endings

recovering from the forgetting

Step forward

when you feel ready

and

do come in

It’s safe harbor here

Changeling

Unwrap the cocoon

Shed the chrysalis

and stretch your sinews

inside the emerging

swimming in unpunctuated phrases

Be in the I remember time

refreshing your forever I’m

Say goodbye

to cavalier whatevers

to those musty nevers

to the crooks and kinks and tears

Welcome

gentle butterfly with two earth feet

Unlock your dance upon forever

Unwrap the false agenda

You are the new Legenda

Welcome… welcome… welcome

butterfly with two earth feet

do

come
