We are told when life gives you lemons
We should make lemonade
But some use it for deception
Selling it's rotten juices for gold
We blame the snake and Eve
When Adam took the apple
Because we can't admit
We are responsible for our own actions
The mold grows on society
Deep in the cracks, seeping into our beliefs
Where the good are punished
And the one committing the crime is reprieved
Double standards left and right
People no longer knowing whats wrong and whats right
Is it good or evil that we now fight
Do we walk into darkness or do we walk into the light
When the poor are made poorer
And the rich made richer
Haven't we painted an eerie picture
Those that harm and hurt and steal
Sleep tight with their conscious clear
Those that struggle and remain honest
Sleepless nights of worry haunt us
What has happened to society
Making rotten lemons into diamond rings.
About the Creator
Sheara Kerry
A daydreamer, mind wondering, thoughts pondering, like the ondulation in the ocean. I doodled, and wrote, pages with a thousand notes. My dreams like sci-fi movies, where the lines of reality and imagination blurr into imPOSSIBLE things.
