Roses are Old-Fashioned
"Rose petals aren't romantic sprinkled across gum-stained streets."
Cut off memories of pleasure and pain.
Destroy those raw remains.
So that You may flourish, love!
Daisies sprout from discarded chains.
I no longer possess seeds of daisies,
For our roots, with devotion, entwined
Cross-contamination, a loving amalgamation,
Formed as our beings redefined.
To cut off our memories,
I must severe each limb.
Hack off each useless finger,
Only safe connected to him.
The back of my hand,
Mere surplus flesh Before.
Your tender kisses gave purpose,
What is it to me anymore?
Love is natural,
Heartbreak: manmade.
We grow towards the light,
No matter the distance.
But modernity murders.
Concrete slabs suffocate,
Patent heels stamp
Our malleable, green stems.
The pavement,
a never-ending conveyer belt,
Motionlessness means death
By the trampling feet.
Move on move on move on!
Rose petals aren’t romantic
Sprinkled across gum-stained streets.
