Rose Colored Glasses

I'm dreaming like I used to.

This just happens now occasionally.

I wake up so startled, so unsure of my surroundings.

Gathering my bearings, I roll out of bed already anxious.

Obligations and gotta-dos somehow bind me.

Sleep does not come easy most nights.

Even those nights when you are here holding my hand.

I can't seem to turn off the rattling sounds that gather in my mind.

Words confusing my sense of rhythm,

Confusing my sense of logic,

Confusing my sense of time.

What I am told, you can hear my heart break from where the crack begins.

The rose colored glasses you wear give you so much

Freedom.

With those rose colored glasses can you see my light sparkle in darkest of nights?

Can you still see the diamonds that twinkle deep in my eyes?

With you here I am living on eggshells.

Without you here I am afraid of the wind.

I need solace, desperately, to free my soul.

So beautiful where I am headed.

No restraining obligations dictating to me the passage of my life.

Solace will bring my freedom, my rose colored glasses.

Freedom to win or lose.

Freedom to stay or go.

You know that same freedom you lavish in?

It's the freedom that allows you

The glory of being able to live

How you choose to live.

Just being able just to choose is desirable.

Freedom to just be you.

So please grant me peace from the demons I see. They crowd me and stalk me and won't let me be.
