Risking Love

Love is and always has been a risk

Doesn’t matter with who or when you choose to take it

I'm just confused as is why everyone’s so scared to make it

Everyone has broken hearts

That’s not an excuse

Why are you faking it?

You’re not scared of love you’re scared of losing it

but don’t you all remember how you felt during your lost commitments

Before things didn’t work out and got messy

Before you knew you would ever end things

That feeling is what we’re all searching for again

The way the world seems brighter with them

Happiness seems even lighter

Passion is back inside us

The best parts of ourselves come out to guide us

But.

You don’t need another person to find those things

Love yourself first and to the next table you will bring

Delicious and decadent attributes your new lover may need

If not for you, think of them and their means

Doing this may keep them and your relationship clean

Discover yourself and figure out your kerosene

Then set your hearts on fire

& keep the flame burning

Just remember to take the risk
