A Poem

I will tell no lies

I will not pretend that this burn to be near you isn't alive

I will tell no lies

I refuse to look into your eyes because if I do then I won't be able to leave them

I will fall into the deep abyss of your past and find the beauty in your mistakes

I will realize my love for you is an ocean but all you'll ever know is that it's like a lake

I will bury my face into your chest until the gas I smell isn't exactly oxygen but the smell of your cologne I love so much

And I'll be happy because I know that it won't last long

And I refuse to spend that limited amount of time sad because I know that when you are done feeling close to me.. You'll just walk away like nothing happened

And I will be left here

Broken

Because you think that it's a lake when it's an ocean

And I am drowning

And it's not fair how you assume that just grabbing onto me and letting go is going to help

No

You have to pull me up into your arms

And now that you realize that this poem doesn't really rhyme

Because I will tell no lies

And the best liars are fantastic at rhyming.
