Remember When

Remember when, we were kids

Remember when, we truly lived

Remember when, we ran down the street

and played cops and robbers

and climbed trees

Remember when, we had dreams

Remember when, we thought we could be anything

What happened?

Where did those go?

College and a career came

and adulting and bills

And all of a sudden our childhood dreams were just a thrill

in our imagination

that seemed attainable no more

For money, time, and responsibilities

got in the way

And boys and other things that seemed more important in a way

But what happened to those dreams we talked about everyday?

Can we still live them

or are we just going to get sucked away

in this life filled with phones

and online applications

and no real communication

Are we going to let money

and time get in the way?

NO, because if we really want them

then we will find a way.
