Remember the Living

This poem is about everyday heroes.

Remember The Living.

Those who are recently widowed,

And walking around with half their heart worn on their sleeve.

Those trying to figure out how to pick up the pieces and put them back together again in the jigsaw puzzle we call life.

Remember the Living.

Those who fight mental illness each day but manage to continue to function as if nothing is wrong.

Those who are still getting over memories from their childhood and strive each day to be a better parent to their own children.

Remember the Living.

Some battles with addiction are lifelong.

It takes guts to admit the old way is wrong and check into rehab to find that light at the end of the tunnel.

Remember The Living.

Learn and be inspired by those around you.

Work to better yourself and learn from past misfortunes.
