Remember Me

My Final Wishes

I hope someday, when my time has come, that you remember me.

I hope you remember all the times we laughed,

All the times we cried.

The days when we just sat on the lawn,

And the days where we couldn’t sit down.

When we talked about anything and everything,

As well as the times where we shared no words at all.

I hope you remember all the inside jokes,

All the crazy parties,

The times we drank too much,

And the times we didn’t drink enough.

I hope you smile when you remember me,

And all the stupid things I did.

All the times I tripped over my own feet,

Or said something completely uncalled for,

And the times I laughed at you for doing the exact same thing.

No matter if we talk every single day,

Or haven’t talked in years,

I hope you can think of at least one time when I made you smile.

I hope I am remembered for my kindness,

Not for the mistakes that I have made.

Remembered for the times I lifted you up,

Not for the times that I let you down.

I hope when my time comes, you smile,

Knowing that I have lived a happy life,

And be happy that you were a part of it.

Even if I should be forgotten tomorrow,

I hope that for today you will remember me,

And smile
