Releasing the Hold

Poetry

Swollen tear ducts eyes leaking the soul,

Ceased to behold like a crease sneaked in the fold,

They grilled seasoned then heated with coal,

Peaked to explode under enough heat to reload,

Shattered fragments deep in the mold,

Trying to get a grip while releasing the hold,

Searching for warmth bring an ease to the cold,

World on my shoulders I'm just heaping the load,

Dug deep defeated defeat then I rose,

Army of one no legions in tow,

Deep breath keep breathing and go,

Weaving them blows,

Still firmly planted like cleats dug deep in the snow,

Shine bright like beacons exposed,

Picture perfect words paint scenes when I flow,

Divinci in code Mozart masterpieces unfold

About the Creator

Benjamin Small

I fell in love with writing. At first, it all started with my love for music. It went from writing lyrics to so much more. As if I'm leaking my soul into every word, phrase and syllable. My goal is to share my passion with the world.
