Release of Emotions
A Poem About When a Special Person Comes into Your Life
You came into my life
at a time when I didn't know it
yet,
but the feelings came
all at once.
Bottled up for so long,
they built up more and more
each time we met.
Yet
you never knew,
I wouldn't say a word.
Keeping a secret
until I could keep
quiet no more.
Wanting to tell you
many times
my feelings.
Instead I left the words unsaid.
Watching you from the sidelines,
hoping you would notice me.
Another day passed,
another day left in the dark.
It gets harder now
whenever our eyes meet
knowing how I will never
say the words that need to be said.
Not fully knowing
why I can't find it in me
to say how I feel.
While I wish I could say
to you in person
everything that is on my mind,
inside is where everything will stay.
And written word will describe
the happiness you bring me
every hour of every day.
Note: I'm in the process of writing a poetry book and posting poems here to see which ones would be the best to put in my book. My poem ideas come from dreams I have where I use them as a basis for a theme of the poem. In this one, I dreamt I was stuck in a sudden snowstorm and I couldn't find my way back home due to it. The poem itself isn't about anyone in particular, but could be for everyone who has had that one special person come into their lives and you wish you could tell them how you feel.
