Red

Umbrella

As far as he could see

rubbing his eyes,

clearing his view;

through the window pane

immersed in dew

One of the European countries,

it snowed often here.

In a far distance,

something appeared as a red dot

till it got too close.

He ordered a hot mug of Coffee

and cookies,

he sat for the storm to reduce.

He realised,

it was a young woman with her RED umbrella

As she walks towards the coffee shop

all in black and the pretty umbrella,

with bright red lips matching it.

Soon takes off her soaky overcoat

and orders the best coffee brewed.

He describes,

‘sipping off the lushy red lips

after every sip of coffee she sips

was as beautiful as she is’.

And she knew him staring.

She smiled and walked up to him...

Until the storm ended, they din and talked

breaking hours of silence

in the coffee shop.

She writes her telephone number

on a piece of tissue

before she left;

He smiles hard looking at it

Because this too was in RED...
