Rebirth

A Poem

maybe

just maybe

you have to crumble

fall apart completely

blindly, hopelessly

feel around for all your

pieces

get acquainted with

every inch

of yourself

every dark nook

every neglected cranny

and just

put yourself back together

piece by piece

back to almost perfection

so when someone tells you

that they know you

you can look into their eyes

with confidence

through the eyes

the ones

you

so

graciously

put back together

and you can tell them

with great certainty

that no,

they do not.

not even close

revel in your destruction

and be

grateful

you have been

reborn

by none other

than yourself
