Poetry with Some Quotes I Wrote

One

I’m a messy lover, I top the charts and crash only moments later. You can find me singing your praise and later cursing your name. I see every relationship like it’s an impending war and I am leading the front lines.

But I falter at steady hands and a strong heart, your strategy is flawless my dear. Drown me in love so I can never reach the surface, it’s up to me to be comforted in the bliss of the sea or fight to break the surface and sail the seas once more.

Two

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes,

My love for you burns true.

Both burned to ashes to start anew,

We had heartache and tales to tell for days.

We learned through destruction,

Something new can form true.

It takes getting burned to realize that the end can only mean the beginning.

That the path of tomorrow can take you somewhere new.

Three

With any form of a relationship it is a gamble. A friend all the way to a lover requires putting yourself out there. You risk everything in hopes that this person you picked won't destroy the heart you handed them.

I've never been one to gamble, with the ever-climbing risks I always folded and walked away. How can I trust people when all I was ever dealt was heartache with a never-ending river of tears? Giving yourself over, putting all that you are in the hands of someone is enough to make me want to bolt from my chair.

But life only has so many hands it can deal you, and with each one face it with as much courage you can muster. Because most of those hands dealt will not be in your favor. But maybe, just maybe it will give you someone worth putting it all in and taking that risk.

Four

"Why is it when love comes knocking you turn the locks and run away?"

Maybe I fear it more then I embrace it. Maybe it's the ache from the once shattered pieces I somehow glued together once more. My heart aches, it cries in remembrance of the storms that passed. It wants what it was once promised but was denied all the times before. It yearns to be what it was before, a beautiful piece that was once whole and untouched. Yearns for soft and steady hands, a person who sees the value in it. Love has never been kind, it always dragged me to war.

I turn and run away for my heart can't face another storm.

Five

Look for a man who will trace every scar with the lightest touch. Who will seek out the story of how that scar came upon your skin. Who discovers every inch of your body, not in lust but in wonder. Find a man who sees you as the beautiful art work you were created to be.

Six

I’ve learned that the best gift to give to someone is my time, I’ve also learned not everyone is worthy of such gift. Once you give it, you can never get it back. So never give it so freely, it is one of the few things money cannot buy.

Seven

“Why are you always ready to fight?”. He questioned.

“When everyone who has ever come into your life has broken your heart. You learn to become a fighter, you learn to protect the last pieces of your heart.” She whispered back, eyes casting down to the floor with the pain of remembrance flashing in her eyes

Eight

I can’t remember much of our first kiss, it was in the tail end of summer when our lips finally locked. I can only recall raw emotion that you sunk into that kiss. It’s funny that I can remember our final kiss, the one when your love for me vanished. Cold and distant, forced and bitter.

Nine

On the day that I lost you, the sky opened to cry with me.

We all must return one day, we all must come back to where we came.

Death is never easy on the souls of the ones left behind. I know, it shattered mine.

And you stole a piece to take with you on your long journey home.

Hold it close and hold it dear.

For when I figure out how to move heaven had hell I will join you my dear.

Ten

My body is not your temple. You cannot come to me seeking forgiveness and acceptance when the weight of your sins become to pressing. Only the best of men are allowed entrance, you my dear are forever condemn for the sins you've committed.
