Radiantly Shining
The Luminosity We Reflect
They are like moths to the light
So often they find themselves drawn to the insecurities of others
They see the scars, the disfigurement
The tarnished layer of impurities that we wear upon our skin
And they have this desire to cover up these flaws
So that once again, we might shine beautifully
But that is the problem
We were already shining
We are brighter than any star they will ever find in the sky
The luminosity we reflect can bring radiance to any cave so far underground
Splendor to the dark alleys of any city
Daylight to the sky in the middle of a storm
Each insecurity is what makes us stand out in the crowd of pretty girls with painted faces
We are glistening not only in the sun
But in the dead of the night
When no one is awake, we lay in our beds
We are radiant flames
And because they were taught never to play with fire, they seek to extinguish us
I am asking them now, to let us burn
Let us showcase our beauty, and maybe
We will let you get close enough
To feel the warmth that comes from inside of us
For we are not just burning candles
We are carefully crafted people that are not afraid of any cool breeze that may attempt to blow us out
