Quiet, We Are Dreaming

The people stare at nothingness.

Like stone steps, the truth rose up

From an earth of corruption, where

Silly strings hold the complexity of

The human intellect. For these pebbles,

So tiny skipping across time, breathing

For their future lacks perception, light

Their way with a bitter flame, pressed

Upon the voiceless planes, soundlessly

Lost in darkness, void of empathy for

The other, where sight loses meaning

And smells of dark stench hold the

Noses with disgust for the ways of

Life. And what are we, such beings

Of past and present, forgotten and

Marooned on this tired floating

Rock, dying for a reality we

Do not know, for a purpose

Only the clouds can propose in

Love. Intoxicated by madness,

We are in love with sadness, and

When we fell in love with the color

Of your eyes, we knew there was

No turning back; no truth without

Loss, glorified by a higher meaning

For a terrible cause dripping in malice.

Greed spoiled the souls of our brothers,

As the evil rapes the women, children

Blind by the brainwashing tempers

Of leaders who rule like gods over

Man. But do we stand, so close on

This edge, to the beautiful world with

Hands raised for joy of the light written

In the skies, struggling with a plight

Which we may never solve, willful for

Time to bring us our answer, scorched

By the flames of our irrational past.

Takes us for what we are, small galaxies

Slithering along this stream of space

For the journey of a lifetime of want.

Love will guide us to our elite place,

While our hope will give us faith in the

Perilous stars, bombarding our cosmos

In colors of power, leading us through

This uncommon adventure like our

White clouds that umbrella our world

In protection of what we yet do not know.
